JUNIOR REFORM LEAGUE

Mr. D. Jones, M:P.. for EUesmere, in an address to the Wellington East branch of the Junior Reform League on Saturday evening, said the Reform Party had a .splendid record, and to be 'associated with such a party was something' to be proud of. The party had been /in power for nearly a quarter of New Zealand's political ' lifetime. He referred to the great'record of the late Mr. Massey, and said that in the Prime Minister to-day they had a leader who was improving every month. New Zealand had many natural advantages, but the maintenance of its high standard could only be effected through political action. While admitting the great work done by. the Liberal Party in past years, he said that party was gradually disappearing, and it was useless to follow a party that was dying. The, Labour Party aimed at the: nationalisation of 'everything, of which they had an example in Russia, where everything had been turned upside down. An organisation like the Junior Reform League, he said, would'be a big factor in fostering a national spirit and in making New Zealand what it ought to be—the Britain'of the South.
