SWANSEA DEFEATED
(United Press Association.—Copyright.) .LONDON. Ist October. Torrential ram fell' when New South Wales met Swansea. The Welsh forwards held their own, but the backs were completely outclassed. The" visitors crossed their opponents' line three times, and converted one try before the interval. In the second half the ground broke up, making *t ■■impossible to handle the ball accurately. The Welsh revelled in the mud, and kept the Waratahs busy defending) but the defence was'too strong, and the game ended: New South Wales 11, Swansea 0.
