• AUCKLAND, This Day. A total of. 283 immigrants from the United Kingdom who'h'ave come to settle in New Zealand s arrived at Auckland by the Mataroa from London yesterday. Most of the newcomers will live in Auckland and Wellington provinces. A large proportion of the younger men' have work to go to in the country, and others seek rural occupation. Twenty-four domestics are also aboard. The birth of a girl occurred at sea, the parents being Mr. and Mrs. M'Dermott,'bound for Christchurch.
