B-EOPENING WALLSEND. MINE,
An increase in the capital of Brunner Colleries, _ Ltd., is announced by advertisement in this issue. The present capital of the company is £42,200, which lias been utilised in reopening the Wallsend mine at Brunnerton and completing two masonry-lined shafts, electric pumps, and fan equipment, and other works which have made large ■ quantities of steam and gas coal immediately available. The company .now offers 37,800 £1 • shares for public subscription.'at' par, the additional capital being required to complete the equipment of the mine with underground and surface machinery and other plant. The directors" state that immediately this plant has been installed, the actual ■ extraction of coal will be commenced, so that the mine should be producing within six months. The mine is advantageously situated, its shafts being within ■ a chain of the main railway'from Greymouth to Christchurch.
