SCOTTISH CLUB
The Scottish held their consolation race on Saturday from Muritai, this being the last run of the season. The club wcie the guests of Mr. and- Mrs. Preston. The course, of 'three miles went along-the beach' to flic" Bona Bay Wharf,then; via the Post Office along the main' road back to the starting point. The race resulted in a win for It. Trail, with G. Zander second and^V. ltogers third. The club were then entertained to .afternoon tea. The president (Air. W. J. Walter) thanked the host and' hostess and' lady helpers for the excellent way ■in ' which they entertained the ' club. • Mr. Preston suitably respondedl. -The cjub captain (Mr. E. P. AVhitcbousc) then ropliod on behalf of the'ladies, and,also, thanked all club supporters, for the -loyal way they had supported the- club during' the past season. Three cheers were: then given for Mr. and Mrs. Preston and helpers. During the past season the club waß fortunate enough to add' to its ranks a new member to ' cross-country running, who proved that -he is a coming 'champion. Thjs runner, A. L. Stevens, wor the first man home in' the Bennett memorial road race, which is considered the hardest inteiclub race of the season. '■
