PLAYERS DROP OUT
■ It is ■ announced that J. Harris, of Canterbury, who was - regarded as a strong candidate for the full-back position in the New Zealand Bugby team for South Africa,, is not available for the tour. The resnlt is that H. Lilburne, who has been playing-as a fiveeighth, is being given a chance in the southern trial to;day of showing his ability as a full-back, in which position he played for Canterbury last year. AnotheT full-back whose performance to-day will be watched with keen interest is Butler, of Auckland. This player has been missing from the Auckland team in recent matches owing to an attack of mumps.
