(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
■ . CAMBRIDGE, This Day. A few weeks ago a deliberate attempt to destroy a homestead at Fencourt, near Cambridge, was frustrated, iast night another similar attempt wai made on the residence of Mr. E. Swayne, ITencourt.
Miss Swayne heard footsteps, and. on. investigation found that a heap of dry; bracken had been placed alongside the wall of her bedroom. A blaze in. another part of the building from a sac^ saturated with kerosene was found.
Many fires have oecured in the district of late, and it is thought that the great majority of them have been due to a fire fiend.
