At Walton Heath in the "Nows of tho World" £1040 golf tournament final, Archie Compston beat James Braid, 8 and 7. Braid won tho "News of tho "World" tournament in 1903, 1905, 1907, ana 1911. He was second in J. 913 to George Duncan, hut has been, unplaced since then until this year. Tho winner takes £300 and tho runnor-up £100. Compston won the ovent in 1925.
