NORTH ISLAND GUIDE
With the exception of Wellington, the various automobile associations of the North Island are cOToperating with the Auckland Association, in the production of its new North Island Eoad Guide, which will ba issued shortly. Mr. R. E. Ohamptaloup, the service officer of the Auckland Association, has made his final tour for chocking purposes. Altogether he has covered 40,----000 miles on the work. '
In addition to the Guide, the Auckland Association, of its own volition, is issuing a series of eight maps on a scale of eight miles to the inch. These will show all touring roads, with their bridges, railway crossings, etc., and the way in and way out of various towns inset. Altitudes will bo given, but not grades. A valuable feature will be the fact that road angles .will bo correctly plotted, so that the driver will not be at a loss as to which turning is correct when he comes to the crossroads.
