LETTERS.
Dear Pairiol,—Did you know that it was chicken time? Soon we will bo buying somo chicks. They arc just wee balls of yellow Huff. We have to feed them on chick-raiser for a long time, about two months. It is such fun to see them learning to drink out of a jam-jar lid. At night the chicks inako a sound of "tickie-tickie-tick" when they aro warm and happy. When they arc a week old we dig for worms for them, and they chase round and round their coop after the one who has it. Sometimes they have a.tug of war over it. Then the poor old worm gets gobbled up. I'm afraid my kitten will have to bo trained not to chase the chicks. Cats do seem to like chickens to cat. —Your loving friend ■■■ • ■ DORA. Dora Haggett, Ngaio. Dear Fairicl,—l,have made my silver paper ball and here it is. Yesterday morning the blackbird that used to sing in front of our house last summer came back and sang again, so spring must be here.—From . DAWN. Dawn Croxton, Kelburn.
