FROZEN MEAT MARKET.
Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London agents, dated 23rd September, 1927:—"Frozen meat quotations (prices on a 'delivered' basis, i.e., including storage charges,' cartage, tolls, etc): Down lamb, 28-42, 9%d per lb; beet North Island, 28-42, 9«d per lb; ordinary North Island, 28-42, 9d per lb; second quality lamb, 9d per lb; best North Island wethers, 48-64, 6%d per lb; best North Island wethers, 64-72, 6d per lb; ordinary North Island wethers. 48-64, 6d per lb; North Island ewes, 48-61, 5Ud per lb; North Island ewes, 64-72, 4%d per lb; New Zealand prime ox beef, 160-220, nil. The market is firm, but quiet; good supply from Scotland. As compared with last week's quotations, down and best North Island lamb show an advance of %d per lb, ordinary North Island ViA, and second quality %d per ,1b advance. Best North Island wethers, 48-64's, advanced %d per lb; 64----72's %d per lb, whilst ordinary North island wethers, 48-64's, are %d per lb nigher. North Island ewes are m. changed."
