ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
Owing to the closing of the Basin Reserve for winter sports, followars of the Soccer code -will have to go to Association Park to-morrow afternoon. Keen interest is being 'shown in the meeting of Maristand Diamonds, and V.M.C.A. and Brooklyn. In the championship ladder, Y.M.OA. are leading Marist by one point, with Diamonds only two points behind, so that in the event of Brooklyn making a drawn game with V.M.C.A. and Marist defeating Diamonds, these teams would ba level. As an additional attraction the winners of the junior competition in. Christehurch (Kangers) and Wellington (Thistle) will play-off for the Kickard Cup. The fixture between Thistla and Diamonds for tho Final of the Second A Division Cup has been postponed till 24th September, and will be played at Newtown Park in conjunction wi*,h the Chatham Cup final between Northern (Otago) and Ponsonby; (Auckland). Early arrivals will be entertained by a game between Maritt and Seat (ran in the fifth A division^ which is a cup final. The following will represent Diamond. Senior A against Marist to-morrow:— Ewing, Guest, Wetherspoon (2), Pindlay, M'Cormack. Hearne, Smith. M'Leod, Stocks,- Daniels.
