BRISBANE, This Day. The Railway Commissioner has issued instructions to the effect that it has become impossible.to continue operating the railways on the present, basis, and there is no option but to dose dowa entirely for a short time. ' It will ba necessary therefore to dispense with the sorvices of all employees from noon on Saturday. Employees desiring re-em, ployment are invited to apply immediately. They will be required to sign an. undertaking binding themselves to obey the rules- and regulations as thej; existed before t"ho trouble arose.

Tho general secretary of the Austrahan Railways Union has issued a manifesto appealing to all unionists fo» support. '
