NORTH v. SOUTH ISLAND.

The North v. Souih Island match was played yesterday afternoon in the Taranaki street harbour shed, and was watched with great interest. The .Northern team was much• stronger, the selector, having both the Auckland and Wellington teams' to choose from,- and the half-time score read: North Island 21, South Island 15. The shooting and passing of $he North Island team was exceptionally, good, but tae south Islanders put in some good work in the centre. The final score was 59-34 m favour of the North Island. A most spectacular and successful shot at goal from the side-line by V. Gloyn (Otago) received hearty applause from everyone, the shot being a most difficult one. A snort meeting of the Standing Committee was also held in the afternoon, when it was decided that all conference amendments to rules should hold for three years. .
