SWIMMING CONTROL
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post") CHRISTCHTTRCH, This Day. At a meeting of the New Zealand Swimming Council a request by the Canterbury Centre that fresh water New Zealand records should bo recognised was deferred till the next meeting to give the other centres an opportunity to express their opinion. The Canterbury Centre wrote protesting against tho proposal by the Wellington, Wanganui, Manawatu, and Taranaki Centres to combine for the purpose of holding regional championships to be called the West Coast champion^ ships. The Canterbury Centre consider- | ed that if such championships were permitted they would prejudico the success of the New Zealand championships. The chairman said that this matter was receiving the attention of the' Rules Committee. ' ' •
