HEIFETZ RECITAL TO-NIGHT.

. It is six years since Ilelfetz played to New Zealand audiences. Since that time he has naturally broadened his musical vision, and lie now plays with the soul and passion of the genuine lover of music as well as the precision, delicacy, and wonderful technique of the more matured artist. A popular selection is Schub?&a, 'pPressive "Aye Maria," which in the skilful hands of Heifetz simply breathes the spirit of true devotion and hymnal praise. A stately "Minuet" ■of Mozart's, Is a charming piece of music, while Chopin's impresslvo "Nocturne" in D Major" should prove one of the musical treats of the evening. Reis's attractive "Perpetuum Mobile," with its ceaseless movement and undoubted charm, is also included A wonderful piece of music, Tschaikowsky's entrancing "Melodle" should prove an inspiration to music lovers, and the official programme will terminate, with Bazzinl's remarkable Rondes dcs Lutins.'^ Heifetz is liberal with his encores, and these are sure to include some of the "popular" items. Isldor Achron, a noted ' pianist, accompanies Heifetz, and there is said to be.a perfect understanding between the talented pair.
