THE EXPENSE OF CONTROL.
A number of Australian dairy farmers who have favoured control methods in the marketing of their butter in London probably fail to realise that heavy expense is involved in the process, remarks the "'Australasian." The London Agency of the Dairy Produce Control Board "provides an instance in this connection. So heavy is the maintenance of that organ isation as it is at present constituted that the posiion is viewed seriously by he board. Several thousands of pounds annually are absorbed in salaries and rent of "premises, and general and incidental . expenses arc growing items. All these costs have to be borne by the dairy farmers in the Commonwealth, and the. opinion is ex-pressed-that steps should be taken whereby some reduction in . administration charges could be effected.
