• STAFF CHANGES ■The twenty-fourth anual report ana balance-sheet of the Wellington Young Men's Christian Association states that during the past year the new story to the Willis street building has been completed, also a new hot water service, the expenditure on which necessitated the raising of a £6000 mortgage. The membership at 31st December 1926, was as follows: Boys, 267; senior, 374; younger men, 106; bus, and don,, 222; :total gym. members, 704. Several changes and adjustments had been made in the staff. At the end of last year the : association lost the services of Mr. J.L. Hay 1. At the end •of March the board decided to appoint Mr. E. M. Ryan (assistant general secretary) to the position of general Secretary, and Mrs. Orr was appointed bookkeeper. Mr. R. S. Luke tendered his. resignation, and .Miss Butter was adde3 to the office staff. Mr. H. J. Steptoe, who was assistant physical director was, at the end of this year, appointed assistant general secretary. Miss Bennett, the matron of Donbank resigned during the year. Miss Douglas was, thanked for.carrying on until.the appointment of Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson as house secretary and matron respectively. Miss. Douglas subsequently resigned. . . Since the new story had been finished the Willis street hostel had been practically full. Sundry renovations have been carried out to make the rooms more cheery. Like Willis street hostel, the Donbank hostel had kept well filled during- the larger part of the period, and the matrons in charge" of both residences' (Miss FraSer and Mrs. Ferguson) had carried their responsibility in a very able manner.
