COMMUNITY FAIR.

A meeting of the Community Fair Committee was held in the Town Hall last night, Mr. J. I. Goldsmith presiding. The preparations for the li"air, which is io be opened to-morrow afternoon by Her Excellency Lady Alice Fergusson, arc now almost complete, but there still remain a few depots for which goods have not yet arrived. The parcels should be sent' to the custodian of the Town Hall. It was decided that a troupe of ten Maoris should be brought from Otaki to perform poi dances and hakas on Thursday night. The Wellington Red Cross Society is arranging dances at the Navals' Hall in the evenings. The lighting arrangements are to be carried out by the City Council free of charge. Large collections of eggs, onions, apples, etc., have been made at the city schools, promising an abundant supply for the stalls. On Wednesday night a display of Scottish and national dancing will be given by pupils of Miss Phvllis M'Millan.
