LOWER HUTT W.E.A.

The attendance at last week's class in public speaking and literature was again good. The study was an extract from an oration on Robert Goulii Shaw by Henry James. A good debate on the application o£ bare majority to the Prohibition question was held. The leading speakers were Mr. A. Anderson and Mr" W. Markland. A valuable contribution to the debate was the part taken by all other members present. For the purpose of giving practice in more varied forms of public speaking a social meeting is to be held on lGth August.
