THE KING'S CUP
ENTRIES IN AERIAL RACE

LONDON, 29th July. The most famoua pilots in the country, including Bert Hinkler, are competing to-day in a 640 miles air race along the east coast for the King's Cup. - Twenty-seven machines have been entered, which range from light aeroplanes with 30-h.p. engines to singleseater fighters capable of travelling at two and a half miles a minute. Two women are competing—Mrs. ElliotLynn_ and Lady Bailey. The mystery machine of the race is a tiny monoplane capable of travelling at 170 miles per hour, and flown by Captain Broad, last year's winner. The scratch man is Hight-Lieutenant Pope, whoso, Avro Aeroplane starts five hours after tiie "departure of the limit man.
