The workers at St. Mary's Homes at Karon find that with the very lar^e number of inmates, and the expensive times, there is great need for good support to every effort made for the institution. Therefore, it is hoped that very generous help will be given to the bazaar which will be hold at Sydney street Schoolroom next Friday afternoon and evening. Gifts will be acceptable in money or kind, and already a specially-well-provided produce stall Ims been arranged, where home-mado goods of all descriptions will be obtainable. Flowers, sweets, dainty needlework, and plain work stalls will bo provided, and it'is hoped that there will be a great many buyers for all the good tilings. .Miss Xora Gray has arranged an excellent concert. French Club. The fortnightly meeting of tho French Club was held at the Pioneer Club Hall on Thursday evening, Professor Boyd-Wilson presiding. Dr. A. W. Carbery delivered an 'interesting and instruetivo address in French on "Anthropological Discoveries Recently Made in France," the address being greatly enhanced by numerous magic lantern slides. Mr. Balham greatly amused the audience by his performance of the monologue, "Les Parents," and Mr. Fraser Mackenzie played two pianoforte solos. The singing of the "Marseillaise" brought to a close a most interesting evening. Mine. Bendall conducted the conversation class. A notable feature of the evening was the large number- of French people present.
