TAUPO FISHERIES

LAST SEASON'S REVENUE

The fisheries of the Taupo district, under an agreement entered into with the Maoris by the Eight Ht>n. Mr. Coates (Minister of Native Affairs) enabled fishermen last season to,have fnlf rights under their licenses to fish anywhere in the district. The arrangement made has proved satisfactory both financially, and otherwise according to the return of revenue, made available to-day by-the Hon. E. F. Bollard (Minister of Internal Affairs). It shows that the amount collected for license fees to fish for trout was £2349 15s 3d: for licenses for camp sites, £27; for licenses in respect of boats, £2 2s 6d. The return also shows that the fines and. penalties were nil.
