Evidence is accumulating that tho possibility of excluding 2YA from audibility when listening to other stations is rather bettor than was commonly anticipated. Somo city listeners using a simple trap circuit between tho aerial and a neutrodyno set aro able to hear 2BL and 3LO, as woll as tho other Now Zealand stations, without 2YA, but UTC is too closo to bo cloaned up. Th« exponenco seems to be that two stages oi roally officiont radio efficiency amplification, each tuned (making three tuned stages) is practically certain to Keep »YA _from intojfering with any broadcasts furthor away in wave-length than 2JTC, if tho recoiver is, say, two miles from 2YA. This i s a better result thau is usually recognised in English practice, and is due to tho extonsivo uso of American receivers, which havo been designed to deal with conditions of extreme difficulty.
