BUCHAREST, 24th July. Three archbishops, twelve bishops, and 100 priests participated in King Ferdinand's funeral, service during which members of the Royal Family knelt about the coffin. '

Twelve generals bore the coffin to st gun-carriage to whiei six black horses, ridden by artillery captains, were at, tached.

In the meanwhile the guns opencct with a salute of .101 guns, and 400 churches commenced tolling their bells. The procession started in torria heat under a pitiless sun. Before the-coffin: two of the oldest generals tbore the •Koyal Crown and sceptre and thirty generals walked beside the carriage^ Behind walked King Ferdinand's favourite charger draped in black. The cortege, which took two hours to pass a given point, included members ot Cabinet, high dignitaries of Church and State, thousands of troops, and deputations from the provinces, arrayed m theijr national costume.

Hundreds of thousands lined the aixmile route from the palace to the railway station, the pavements, -window* and trees being crowded. The larger buildings were huiisr with: erope. .
