FROZEN MEAT PRICES.
The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board has received a cablegram from its London office, dated 22nd July, 1927, advising Smithfield delivered prices at that date. Movements in prices, if any, on the week are shown in parentheses:— New Zealand wethers and maidens— Canterbury quality, selected brands, olilb and under 6d, 57 to 641b 5d,'65 to 721b iVzd; other brands, 56!b and under, sVid (down ]4d), 57 to 641b 4%d (down %d), Co to 721b 4%d.
New Zealand ewes, 641b and under 4d (down %d). New Zealand lambs —Canterbury quality, 361b and under 9%d, 37 to 421b B'/id (down %d),' 43 to 501b Sd, seconds 8&d; selected brands, 361b and under 9d, 37 to 421b B%d; other brands, first quality, 361b and under B%d, 37 to 421b 7%d (up %d), ticcond quality; 30-321b average B%d. Australian lambs not quoted. Argentine lambs, first quality, 361b and under, 8d; 37 to 421b 7%d. New Zealand beef not quoted. Argentine -chilled beef—Ox fores 3',-id (up %d), ox hinds 7d (up %d). Argentine frozen beef—Ox fores 3?sd (up Vsd), ox hinds Cd.

Lamb market firm; consumption satisfactory, desprto adverse weather, conditions. Mutton : market:-Wethers quiet, but there is a fair demand for heavyweights. Ewes quiet, trade slow. Frozen pork, 120-1801b: There is only a poor demand, owing to.plentiful supplies Continental bacon; 80-1201b, trade slow. The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board has been advised by its London manager that the following retail prices are being quoted for New Zealand lamb and mutton retailed in London on 'sth July, 1927: — Now Zealand lamb, legs, per lb, 14d; shoulders. 13d, loins 13d, necks Bd, breasts sd. New Zealand mutton (wether):. Legs ]od, shoulders 9d, loins 9d, necks C%d, breasts 3d.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., has received the following cablegram from its London house, under date 22nd July:—"New Zealand frozen meat: Lamb, Bted per lb (average). Mutton: Wether and maiden ewe, light 5%d per lb. heavy i'Ad. Ewe. light 4%d per lb, heavy 4d per lb. Market quiet."
' The Bank of New Zealand (produce department) has received the following advice from its London office, nnder date 22nd July:—"Frozen meat: The demand is good for heavy weight wethers. Ewes are quiet and unchanged. There is a fair demand for lambs. Wethers, light 5d to 6%d per lb, heavy 4%d. to 4%d per lb; ewes, 3%d to 4%d per lb; lambs, 2's BHd to 9Vid per lb,; lambs, S's, 8d to B%d per lb; lambs, 4's, 7%d to 8d per lb; lambs, seconds, T&d to BV=d per lb."
