MUSIC ON SHORT WAVES

Short-wave enthusiasts had an interesting time last night listening to x radio programme broadcasted by the General Electric Company's station. WGY through its experimental station. 2XAF, on 41.88 metres. Locally tha first portion o£ the programme was subjected to much interference by oscillating receivers, but from 9.30 to 10.30 p.m. tho conditions were better, and the items were received clearly and with very good strength. Mr. *B. b. Jones reports a practically complete "log" of the programme. The programme, designed for Australian and New Zealand listeners, was composed of popular British songs and melodies of a patriotic type. The Sydney station 2FC relayed the programme on its normal wave length, and many broadcast listeners were able to hear it, subject to the defects which usually characterise such relays.
