THE KNOCK OUT
DEMPSEY DEFEATS SHARKEY

Jack Dcmpsey's victory ovor Jack Sharkey by a knock out in the seventh round sent the crowd into a delirious outburst. Following a slashing slugging battlo from start to finish, Sharkey took tho count after receiving a terrific right to the pit of the stomach and a crashing left to the jaw.
In the seventh round Dcinpsey won the bout quickly after :i second's fighting, and with a left hook to the jaw, landed as Sharkey was sagging to his knees, and milking a signal to tho referee that the previous blow to the body had been low. Denipsey virtually knocked out his opponent while the latter stood inactive.
A doctor examined Sharkey after the light and said then: was no evidence that lie had been liit a foul b,low.
