A TRIP ABROAD
On Thursday evening, in the Metho* dist Church room at Hataitai, the flrrt of a series of Chatanqua evenings was held, when Mr. Furkert (chief engineer, of the Public Works Department) lee* tared on various phases of his recent trip abroad. He dealt principally with' the Old World cities of Algeria and Tunis, such as Carthago and Timgada Mr. J. Caughley presided, and. there was a good attendance. Various little iscw dents of the peculiarities ofthes* did forent cities wero cited, such as the eol4 that Mr.. Furkert experienced during his nine or ten days' 8oiour» in Algeria.
