ICELAND MUTTON IN LONDON.
During recent years, with the support of the Danish Government, the Icelandic co-operative societies have been exporting frozen mutton to England. Last winter shipments to London totalled about 12,000 carcasses of sheep, and the prices obtained were much better than those realised for salt mutton, although the quotations were lower than those for frozen mutton from New Zealand, Australia, and the. Argentine. It is intended to export on a greater scale this year. Jceland's principal- market for these goods—viz., Norway—has fallen off considerably owing to the increasing production of mutton in Norway itself.
