AUCKLAND, This Day. .Richard Jessup, quartermaster on the Admiralty tanker Nucula, was drowned at sea on lith July. He suffered from a hemorrhage of the lungs and was told by the doctor at Papeete that his lungs were.in a serious condition. Ho seemed to be much depressed on the return trip, and shortly after the tanker left Papeeto Jessnp was seen to disappear over the ship's side. Lifebuoys were thrown out and boats were launched, but a three hours? search was frnitless.
