EASTBOURNE'S PROBLEMS
The recommendations of Mr. H D Bennett In connection with Eastbourne s local affairs wero tho subject of comment by Mr. E. A. Dawson, act-ing-Mayor of Eastbourne, in conversation with a "Post" reporter to-day. Mr. Dawson said that it was very kind ot Mr. Bennett to make a suggestion in connection with the Mayoralty. As. far as he was concerned, and he believed that it was the opinion of his fel-low-councillors, Mr. Jones had himself caused the trouble, if it could be classed as such, but that there was only one. party to it—Mr. Jones—was unquestionable, and that as nobody had any aspirations to the position, then, if Mr. Jones was sincere in his protestations of love for the progress of the borough, the opportunity presented itself for him to demonstrate his sincerity by dropping the dwarf attitude and becoming a giant, putting in his weight to assist in the movement which had been inaugurated during his absence from tho council, and thus show that broadness of mind which is expected from a leader.
