RAILWAY OFFICERS
INSTITUTE CONFERENCE
The annual conference of the Rjplway Officers' Institute concluded its deliberations yesterday. The following officers wore elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr. V. B. J. Stanley (Wellington), (reelected); vice-presidents, Messrs. B. S. ■ Skinner, M. YE. Carroll, J. J. M'Alvon, and E. W. Barnes; executive committee, Messrs. W. A. Finlayson, J. K. Goodley, J. Macdonald, R. G. Croudis, V. C. Hardie, A. S. Henderson, E. M. Bisch; general treasurer, Mr. L. Barclay; auditors, E. H. Alington, F. J. Pohlen. The conference met the Hailway Board on Tuesday afternoon, and discussed with the members a number of general matters affecting the "service. . The new building scheme was fully discussed, and the conference authorised the executive committee to proceed with the proposal subject to aatisf actory financial arrangements being ; made. j A hearty vote of thanks and appreci- j ation of the work of the ex-committee ■ was carried unanimously.
