EMPRESS THEATRE.

"New Zealand at Work and Play," which is being shown at the Empress Theatre, also serves to introduce the N.Z. Our Gang Kiddies, in comedy relief. It takes the onlooker for a trip to Auckland Zoo, to the northern gumfields, to a summer camp, to jam factories, to the N.Z. Navy, to furniture buildings. There are some exquisite scenic effects. Supporting is a decidedly attractive dramatic picture, "Ranger of the Big Pines." Kenneth Harlan is starred, along with Helen Costello, who is in the role of Virginia Weatherford. The majesty of the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming is equalled only by the majesty of the theme. The whole programme- is rounded off by orchestral selections by Miss Edwards's Orchestra.
