BROOKLYN FIRE BRIGADE.
The members of the BrooklynjFire Brigade and Volunteer Fire Police intend holding a series of social evenings during the winter months. The first of these was held in Waldie's Hall on Thursday, 16th June, when a very enjoyable evening was spent. There was a good attendance of members aud their wives and friends, dancing being indulged in till a late hour. Deputy-Superintendent Clarke, in thanking the brigade for their kindness in inviting them to be present at these evenings, apologised for the unavoidable absence of Superintendent Creeke, Songs were contributed by Messrs. J. Bryant and J. Henderson, and were much appreciated, and music was supplied by Messrs. Simpson, Marshall, aud Henderson. Foreman Arrowsmith made a very capabte M.C.
