■. CALCUTTA, loth June. An ugly outbreak was narrowly averted in the city. Owing to the resentment of the Moslems, elaborate precautions were taken at tho Bakrid Festival. It was believed that the Moslems were detei mined to sacrifice coivs at a mosque situated in the heart of the Hindu locality. Armoured cars and large numbers of police rushed to the scene, and after some hours the mobs were dispersed with only minor casualties.
