At the. last meeting of the Britannia Lodge, Manchester Unity, 1&.0.V.,' Bro. E. Jane, N.G., presided. Four new members were initiated and six proposals were received. Bro. C. G. Turner, District Grand Master, assisted by Bro. Cook, D.G.M., and Bro. AW I. Clark, District Secretary, installed the officers elect in the various chairs as follows:—N.G., Bro. A. B. M'Donagh; V.G., Bro. B. Brickman; 1.P.N.G., Bro, E. Jane; elective secretary, Bro. J. L.-Stowart; warden, Bro. E. Johnson; guardian, Bro. J. A. Mason; outside guardian, Bro. Palethorpe; Bros. A J Williams, • P.G., and J. Saunder; P.G., were appointed as conducting officers. The District Grand Master spoke in appreciative of the wort rendered by Bro. W. B. Brown, and personally moved that he receive the purple degree. At a meeting of the Past Grands' Lodge held later it was announced. that Britannia Lodge w «e the winners of the Ritual Shield, which was presented to Bro. E. Jane,

Tho meeting of the Loyal Newtown Lodge, Manchester Unity, 1.0.0. F., was held last Monday. Bro. Leggitfc was elected an honorary member o£ the lodge. Bros-.Johnston, N.G., Wilson, F.S., and K. Bell, P.G., gave a.report of the recent visit to Masterton. The Grand -Master, J3ro. Turner, with hig deputy, Bro. Cook, assisted by Bro. Blair, P.D.G.M., installed the newly elected officers. Pleasure was expressed at the position the lodge had attained m the ritual competition, and it was.decided to hold a ritual practice at au early date. The Past Grands' Lodge wrote stating that a combined visit from all lodges would be made next lodge night. On Saturday afternoon Bro. C. G. TurnevD.G.M., Bro: E. Cook, .D.D.G.M., Bro, W. I. Clark, District Secretary) and Bro. §• „ Godber, Grand Secretary of the «ew Zealand branch of Manchester Unity Orders of Oddfellows, accompanied by over sixty members of the town and suburban lodges, made the journey to Masterton. On arrival at Masterton a warm welcome was received from Bro. P. Dormer, president of .the Past Grands' Lodge, briefly thanked the Loyal Antipodean Lodge. Bro. former explained that the meeting was neld for the purpose of receiving the judges report on the ritual competition, ■winch was read by Bro. F. Taylor, V.G.
