I SYDNEY, This Da* : I A libel action, in which Sir Thenm] Henley, member of the Legislative Mm sembly, claimed £5000 from the **DatJjs Telegraph" Newspaper Company, endv ed in a verdict for the: plaintiff ffir- £ 300. Henley claimed that the news-! paper in an article accused him ofusing his official position as a member i of the Water Board to fight Australian.; industries and the workers; also, that' a second article, discussing the absent^ of five Nationalist members from a; certain division in the Assembly, rc-J ferred to him, among others, as a "shir^ ker.".
A stay of proceedings was granted,
