GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY
With regard to local body expenditure out of loan on works on the ordinary schedule, which have not hitherto been regarded as works carrying unemploj'inent subsidy by the Government, it is undertsood that the Government is contemplating a modification of its attitude, and that as a result Government subsidy at the rate of £1 for £1 will bo available for such portion of scheduled expenditure as is devfited to labour.
