DALEFIELD v. HATAITAI.

The annual tournament between the Dalefield and Hataitai Schools took place in Wellington on Saturday last, when two interesting games wove staged on Pirie Street Reserve. The first game was between the present boys of each school, the local boys securing a rather substantial win by 0 goals to nil. For the winners Jolly (4), JM'Cawe, and Bliclc were the scorers. This game was followed by a match between the old boys of the respective schools, but this contest present-

Ed a much more even game, with a continuous exhibition of good hockey. Here again the honours went to Hataitai, who scored four goals to Dalefield's two. For Hataitai, Searle (2), Chambers, and Cox were the scorers, while Tilsley and Irwiii netted for Dalefield.. The visitors were later entertained at tea in the Hataitai School, a lengthy toast list being honoured. Iv conclusion, Mr. Searle tendered thanks to Messrs. B. Massey- and R. Atkinson, who had controlled the games during the afternoon. The entire party then adjourned to the Opera House. The visiting teams were under the control of Messrs. W. Banness and Gooding, and returned to the country this morning.
