, The executive of the Institute of Horticulture, met in Wellington ' yesterday, there being a full attendance. Mr. F. T. Pope; (Assistant Director of Agriculture) presided. ' 'The boundaries 0£ th(Kdistrict councils as suggested by the special committee were agreed to. ,■-.-.,••■ . . ■ An outline of the programme for the annual conference .to be held in Wellington on 7th July was submitted by the secretary and agreud -to. It was decided to ask the Mayor o£ Wellington to welcome the conference; ■. and to ask the Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. 0. J. Hawken) to officially open the, proceedings. . It was. decided to publish an illustrated article on the Wilton's Bush open-air museum, by Dr. L. Cockayne and Mr. G; J. Mackenzie, as an institute bulletin. Matters to come before the conference will include plant improvement by bud selection, plant breeding, arid research plant registration. The '■ Director of Town Planning will 'deliver an address on "Town Planning in Relation to Horticulture." -
Mr. L. J. Wild, M.A., B.Sc, Director of the Feilding Agricultural High School, will deliver an address on "Fertility of the Soil." ■.■•"■■ ■
