"FLORADORA."

Judging by the amount of interest on the part of theatregoers, the Wellington Amateur Theatrical Society should be aßsured of a remarkably good season in connection with the forthcoming production by the society of the melodious old-time opera "Floradora." Rehearsals are in the process of having the finishing touches put on, and when the curtain is raised on Saturday evening next a scene of brightness and enthusiasm'should meet the eye. It is natural that a new society in making its initial bow to a discerning public should experience a feeling of some trepidation, but the Wellington Amu-teur Theatrical Society is sparing neither effort nor expense to at once establish itself in popular eßteem. "Floradora" is brimful of the most catchy and melodious numbers. Particularly attractive is the number, "Tell Me, Pretty Maiden," by the sextette of English ladies and clerks. Those who remember "Floradora" in former days will recollect this item as one of the brightest in the piece. For vim and go the number, "I Want to be a Military Slan," by principals and chorus, is hard to excel. The solo dancing by- Miss Florence Heyworth, Miss Gladys Smyth, and Mr. Philip Low will be one of the features of J,he show. Tile dressing and scenery will approximate as far as possible professional .standards. The box plan is now open at The Bristol, and the prices are right.
