TRANS-TASMAN FLIGHT
(Special to "The Evening Post.") • AUCKLAND,, 6th June. There is every likelihood, that an attempt will be made Bhortly to fly •across the:Tasmau Sea. A representative gathering of business and . professional men, presided over by the Mayor, . Mr. G. Baildon, met in the Grand Hotel last evening to discuss . the question. The proposal was greeted with enthusiasm, and a' committee was set up to go fully into it. It is intended to approach the: Government for support and a public appeal is also to'bo made. Although it was practically decided who the navigator would be, other details were left until a., later, date. There has been- various proposals for a trans-Tasnian flight, but nothing has ever come of them.
