KARORI MOTOR CAMP
• At the meeting of the • Wellington, Automobile Club last night there wert present the following members: Messrs F. W. Manton (chairman), A. L. War* burton, A. J. Curtis, C. M. MaJfroyj H. J. Toogood, I. V. Wilson, T. W. Lawi rence, Dr. G. Hobertson, and, the secre* tary, Mr. H. J. Stott. Mr. B. E.. Champtaloup, an officer of the Auckland Automobile Association, and • • Mr. B. S, Abrahams, "of Pnlmerston North, wer«l present. The action of the chairman in agreeing to contribute £25 towards the cost of the Karori Park camp was approved: this amount, it was stated, would be returned out of the fees received. It was going to cost £50 or thereabouts to put the camp in order. Some further provision for the parking of cars would also be made on the sandhills at Lyall Bay. '" Slow-moving traffic was discussed hy the meeting. Horse-drawu vehicles were stated to be- the worst offenders, although there were taxis which cruis-. Ed about for fares. There had been 48 convictions last year for failure to drive as near to the left-hand side as possible. The meeting decided to c*» press its thanks to the City Council tar' what it had done to rectify , th* nuisance. The question of insurance was re# ferred back to the committee for a! report.
