From the *ci ports received from school doctors t% , is estimated that there are some 10,000; children suffering from rheumatic Bymp*i toms. Of these about 350 require* spe.l cial hospital treatment. The Metropoilt tan Asylums Board, therefore, has d*e7 cided to extend its Queen Mary's Hosp pital for Children ,»t Carshalton, bjfi building further accommodation for thisfl number of London children with .rheu# niatic disease; and to meet immediate'! urgent requirements by setting (Widejj 56 beds at their High Wood Hospital for Children, Brentwood. • ■■'.;.
