FRENCH CLUB.

The fortnightly reunion of • the French Club was held on Thursday, in the Pioneer Club Hall, a large number of members being present. Mine. Bendall received. The programme was arranged by Madame- M'lntosh, who, however, was unable to be present owing to her illness. The chief item was tho presentation of Moliere'a comedy, "Georges Dandin," the parts being taken by Misses Mead, Young, Hind, and Messrs. Balham, F. F. Miles, F. Mackenzie, A.-X. Hamilton, and Dr. Carbery. 'This play is worthy of comment, as one would never have the opportunity of seeing it presented in New Zealand but at a French Club. The play wont well from start to finish, and was 1 very much appreciated. Miss Joseph contributed two valses by Moszkowski, which gave much pleasure. The "Marseillaise" closed a very enjoyable evening.
