STREET FORMATION
(To the Editor.) Sir, —In the estimates for the year I was very disappointed to be unable to find any provision for the formation of Hector street, Seatoun (south end), but like the other residents I was surprised to find that the council had instructed itg Engineer to report on the suitability of planting Seatoun streets with trees. Now, Sir, as a ratepayer, I strongly object to the money being spent on trees, until we in. this locality can have a street and some form of footpath, and an improvement in ouf street lighting. The street is now all built on, and the council will this year collect rates off practically every house. The street is at present a disgrace to Wellington, and I venture to suggest, is the worst in the suburbs. 1 understand this work was promised last year. If this is correct there i« no apparent excuse for the delay. Surely, if only for the sake of the young children attending school, the council officials wilj view this street and place the work iqj hand immediately.—l am, ate., MSGUSXED RA£gftASaß*J
