FAIR WEATHER

The skies in Wellington this morning were gloomy and a drizzling rain was falling, but, with the exception of Gisborne, all other places in the Dominion were enjoying bright skies and fine winter weather. Hard frosts have been experienced in the South and inland. The barometer is now at a high level, and the Government Meteorologist (Mr. D. C. Bates) anticipates fair weather. There may still be showers on the East Coast, but generally it will be fine for to-morrow's holiday. Varying breezes will be experienced, easterlies predominating, and there will be another very cold night, with frosts. The barometer at present shows little movement.
