THE FERRY SERVICE

MANUKA REPLACES MARAROA

Owing to the Mararoa having developed a defect in her hydraulic system, which prevents her from working cargo with any satisfaction, she is to be replaced in the Wellington-Lyttelton ferry service by the Manuka. The change of vessels will commence with the Manuka sailing from Wellington for Lyttelton on Saturday night, and she will remain in this service until both "the Maori and the Wahine have been completely overhauled. It is expected that the Maori will resume the run from Lyttelton on 14th June, in place of the Wahine, which will then withdraw for her overhaul. The Mararoa will be laid up at Wellington.
