LOS ANGELES THREATENED
RANCHERS' AMAZING FEUD
(United Press Association.—Copyright ) ' LOS ANGELES, 29th May.' The water supply o f Los Angeles is endangered by an amazing feud started ten years ago, and breaking out again dunng the past week, causing damage amounting to £100,000. Appeals are being made that the Govern?? of the fctate of California order troops to patrol the 265 miles length of aqueduct supplying the city against armed bands of ranchers in Owens Valley. The latter claim that their homes and farmlands have been desolated by Loj Angeles damming the mountain lakes, .the power plant and syphon were successively dynamited on Thursday and Friday, imperilling the city's entire supply. The ranchers ask for half a million sterling as compensation. They threaten other reprisals.
